Business and Enterprise Status

Hasmonean High School became a specialist Business and Enterprise College in September 2003.

This specialist status award enables the school to:

• Raise standards of academic and vocational achievement in all subjects for students by encouraging enterprise and creativity across the curriculum, and through the development of a business learning environment.
• Extend and enhance inclusive curricular opportunities in the 14-19 learning phase by providing access to vocational and academic qualifications. In Key Stage 3, we provide focused enrichment activities with a Business and Enterprise theme.
• Enrich and develop teaching and learning opportunities via the spiritual and moral values of Orthodox Judaism that underpin the school. We make use of modern business resources to teach students to analyse moral and ethical issues arising in the commercial and professional world.
• Develop existing links with our partner schools and a network of business providers, enabling Hasmonean to become a leading Business and Enterprise educational centre for thecommunity. We have partners at all levels of education, as well as in the local community and business world. By strengthening these partnerships, we maximise our opportunities for lifelong business learning.
