Extra Curricular Activities

At Hasmonean, we place a great deal of importance on the extracurricular activities we offer, believing that they lead students to develop broad horizons and pursue a range of different interests.

An extensive variety of clubs and societies is on offer – the drama club, debating society and trampolining club have proven particularly popular, to name three out of approximately twenty groups currently active.

Each year, we organise various residential visits and shabbatonim for students’ enjoyment and educational benefit, both in the UK and abroad. Overseas trips include a home-stay visit to Strasbourg, a Poland tour and pre-yeshiva and sem. visits to Israel for the Sixth Form.

Equally important is the work our students undertake in the wider community. Hasmonean boys regularly conduct services in old age homes and hospitals and both boys and girls visit and entertain the residents and those in need. Each year, the school works hard to raise thousands of pounds for charities both here and in Israel. Our students are renowned for their tireless and dedicated tzedakah work in the local community and in Israel. Boys and girls are constantly focused on creating new projects to support deserving charities.
