A one-day trip to the Ypres area of Belgium for Year 10 GCSE History students. The students travel with the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Travel who have expert guides to really bring the experience alive. The purpose of the trip is to provide an insight into the nature of warfare on the Western Front, and to add to student knowledge concerning the impact of the Great War, both on Britain and on international relations in the interwar period. Remembrance is a motif that runs through the trip, culminating in privileged student participation in the moving ceremony at the Menin Gate.
Participants will enjoy activities such as swimming, orienteering, an adventure course, as well as sports and other activities focusing on building Achdut throughout the year. We believe that trips such as this enrich school life immeasurably.
