Jewish Studies - Girls

Chavrusa learningThe aim of Jewish Studies in Hasmonean Girls' School is to enable each student to reach the highest levels of Jewish literacy. We aim to ensure high levels of reading, writing and translating Hebrew into English (and vice versa), and an ability to decipher Rashi and other commentaries. We also aim to provide a well-rounded education in all aspects of Torah learning, Halacha (Jewish Law), Middos (Jewish ethics and characteristics) and Tefillah (prayer). Students complete a study of all five books of the Torah during Years 7-11 in order that they can immerse themselves into deeper textual and conceptual Torah study in the Sixth Form.
